Tuition and Fees
Diving Deeper into Enrollment Logistics

The chart below outlines the cost of a Montessori Day School of Brooklyn education for the 2025-2026 school year. Tuition may be paid on various installment schedules. We use TADS for payment processing; please see their website for options. Occasionally, class trip fees are necessary to offset trip costs and are due separately.

MDS supports a need-blind admission policy and provides Tuition Assistance for qualified families.

Tuition Assistance

During its four+ decades of serving Brooklyn families, the Montessori Day School of Brooklyn has thrived on its social and economic diversity. To continue to encourage that diversity, we created a Tuition Assistance Program. Families are invited to apply for assistance. Depending on need and available funds, families may be awarded a tuition reduction of up to 65% for the school year. These awards are funded with a portion of the school’s general budget, as well as generous donations from other MDS families, community member, and outside donors.

We use an outside company, Clarity, to receive and evaluate financial information. Clarity provides a committee of MDS staff and board members with financial need information that then determines eligibility. All applications are kept strictly confidential.
IMPORTANT: Families will need to separately apply for MDS admission following all admission application deadlines and paying the required admissions application fee. Submitting the Tuition Assistance Application through Clarity does not constitute applying for school admission.
Please note, a tuition assistance application must be made for each year in which a family wishes to be considered for aid.
Clarity will inform families directly about what documents they need to submit.
These may include:
-
supporting tax documentation (i.e. W2, recent pay stubs, federal tax form 1040, 1099, etc.)
-
utility bills
-
rent or mortgage payment information
-
debt information i.e. (credit card debt, loans, medical bills)

To get started, please go to the **Clarity Application** and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $65 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
